That was so far from the reaction Gwen was bracing herself for. It shocked her into stunned silence and she watched Hawk for a moment, expecting what she heard him say to actually be entirely misheard. But after giving herself a moment to process it, she realized she did in fact hear him correctly.

“I love you, too.” Yeah. That’s what she has to say to that.
Standing upside down on the ceiling as if it were the floor, Gwen looked at the keys again and held them out to him.
“I mean, myself and another hero fought a giant spider-crab that spat acid which really felt bad, just to get your keys back. That’s gotta like...tell you just how much, right?” A relieved laugh and then a hiss of pain as she presses her hand against a spot the aforementioned acid ate through.
